Kehilla School
Lovingly embracing the wholeness of each child
through Jewish education and community
Kehilla School is a kid-centered community of Jewish life and learning where students engage the cultural, historical, spiritual, intellectual, social, artistic, and religious dimensions of their growing Jewish identity. For Kehilla School’s Vision and Mission statements, click here.

Our school community is Jewish and multi-faith; it includes Jews of Color, LGBTQ folx, people of all genders, blended families, families created through adoption, and many more. Our school community reflects Kehilla’s vision of spiritual practice and social justice work. Kehilla has a justice based relationship to Israel/Palestine and as a community we are guided by the values statement adopted in 2016.
Our faculty are vibrant educators who love sharing their enthusiasm for contemporary Jewish life with our kids. Curious what that looks like? Check out a typical day at Kehilla School and get an overview of our curriculum themes here.
Please note that membership in Kehilla Community Synagogue and two years’ attendance in Kehilla School, level 5th & 6th grades, is a prerequisite to enrollment in the B’ Mitzvah program.
Our Joyfully Jewish program for kindergarteners deepens your child’s appreciation of the Jewish tradition and culture, and engages the whole family as well, using the most successful tool we have: FUN. If you’re interested in enrolling a student in Joyfully Jewish, which is open to members and non-members, please email Maria Lewis, Kehilla School Administrator.
Kehilla School meets Thursday afternoons from September to May. School tuition, which covers both spring and fall semesters, is on a sliding scale of $1,000 – $1,400 per student for members of Kehilla and $1,700 per student for non-members. Non-member enrollment is available through 4th grade. Financial aid is available – please contact us for information. There is an Early Bird discount of $100 for those enrolling before August 4th.
Ready to enroll your child? We look forward to welcoming you to our community!

What Parents Are Saying About Kehilla School
“Kehilla Hebrew school has become my son’s favorite place, his second home, I think because he can show up and be seen and appreciated for his whole self. Kehilla feeds the spiritual, the intellectual, the playful, the social in the context of warm community. I’m so grateful that as he forges his Jewish identity it is in a progressive context and that he is learning about solidarity as a Jewish value. “
~ Laura Vyda, Kehilla School Parent
“We feel welcome in Kehilla’s inclusive school community, where all types of families are accepted. We appreciate how Kehilla combines a philosophy of inclusion with the Jewish strong education my daughter receives.”
~ Ari Levenfeld, Kehilla School Parent
“We love Kehilla School because our son love, love, LOVES going – even with a fair commute. Though somewhat reticent at his own school, at Kehilla, we’ve seen him speak in front of the whole school during Tefillah, play hilarious characters in the Purim schpeel, and we even caught him playing a sport with other kids during recess! We ALL feel at home at Kehilla School.”
~ Nina Cohen, Kehilla School Parent
